Cruising
Since the birth of tourism as we know it, Egypt and in particular, the Nile Valley has enticed and entralled millions. The craze for all things Egypt really began with the expeditions of Napoleon's forces, following the French invasion of Egypt in 1798. Essentially rediscovering this ancient world, culminating in the historic battle amongst academia to decipher the secrets of the Rosetta Stone (unlocking the language of hieroglyphics and stories of Egypt), people have flocked to Egypt ever since. A Nile river cruise has been a staple of that tourist trade for almost a centuary and has itself become a romantic ideal, appearing in numerous literary works such as Agatha Christie's classic, Death On The Nile.
